About Emma

Emma Young brings over 25 years of experience in eDiscovery and legal technology across Australia, Asia and the UK.  As Regional Manager for APAC at DLA Piper, she leads eDiscovery strategy and delivery for complex, cross-border litigation and investigations. In her current role, Emma manages matters across Singapore, Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong, ensuring defensible, efficient solutions tailored to diverse regulatory environments.

Previously, Emma held senior leadership roles at Australian and UK eDiscovery consultancy firms, as well as global and domestic law firms.  A pioneer in the field, Emma drafted the protocol for the UK’s first predictive coding case in the Technology & Construction Court. Her technical expertise spans keyword analytics, technology-assisted review, machine learning, and advanced eDiscovery tools—all deployed to reduce costs and optimize efficiency on major matters.

Emma holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in IT Management and Leadership from the University of Southern Queensland. She is a Certified eDiscovery Specialist (ACEDS) and holds multiple Relativity certifications, including Certified Administrator, Infrastructure Specialist, Analytics Expert, Sales Professional and Generative AI Pro.

She also serves as Immediate Past President of ACEDS Australia & New Zealand, regularly contributing to industry forums and thought leadership. Her recent insights on the importance and evolution of Legal Data Intelligence (LDI) highlight her as a forward-thinking leader. Emma likens a skilled LDI professional to an “air traffic controller”—someone who can balance analytical precision amid complexity and evolving data environments.
