Caryn Sandler, Partner + Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer, Gilbert + Tobin
Caryn leads the G+T Innovate team with responsibility for over 60 lawyers and business professionals working across Transformation, AI, Legal Technology, Legal Informatics, Legal Project Management and Knowledge Management. Together, they provide specialised services to support Gilbert + Tobin’s legal service delivery, innovating to deliver new tools and services benefiting Gilbert + Tobin and its clients.
A former practising corporate lawyer, Caryn brings 20 years of experience in legal, knowledge management, legal technology, change management, transformation and solution design to her role. Working with a variety of ASX 20 in-house clients, she explores opportunities for digitisation, capability development, process reengineering and automated service delivery.
Her team’s expertise and execution of successful innovative projects are recognised by the market. Caryn is listed Band 1 in Chambers NewLaw / Legal Transformation Consulting and was also listed as an ‘Influential Woman in Legal Tech’ by ILTA, both in 2024. Under her leadership, G+T was most recently awarded the overall title of ‘Most Innovative Law Firm in Asia-Pacific’ at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards 2024, as well as ‘Excellence in Technology & Innovation’ at the Australasian Law Awards (3rd year in a row) and ‘Innovator of the Year (Company)’ at the Australian Law awards 2023.
Caryn is the Co-Chair of the Advisory Board to the Centre for Legal Innovation and is a director for various not-for-profit organisations.
Laurence Liew, Director of AI Innovation, AI Singapore
Laurence Liew is a pioneering figure in Singapore's AI landscape who serves as the Director of AI Innovation at AI Singapore. With over 30 years of experience in technology leadership, he drives national initiatives that are transforming Singapore into a leading AI-First nation. Laurence is the architect of several groundbreaking programs, including the 100 Experiments (100E) program connecting AI researchers with industry partners, and the award-winning AI Apprenticeship Programme (AIAP) developing Singapore's AI talent pipeline. His LearnAI initiative has successfully exposed over 200,000 Singaporeans to AI education.
Internationally, he co-chairs the Global Partnership on AI's (GPAI) Innovation and Commercialisation Working Group, focusing on AI adoption by SMEs globally. His expertise has led multiple countries to adopt AI Singapore's programs through the AIAPX initiative. He is also the author of ""AI-First Nation: A Blueprint for Policy Makers and Organisation Leaders"" and is a sought-after speaker who makes complex AI concepts accessible while offering practical insights for organizations navigating their AI transformation journey.
Keith Carter, Partner KDA Capabilities
Keith B. Carter is an executive educator, strategist, and technologist specializing in AIdriven transformation. He is the author of Know Decide Act: 10x Your Productivity at Work with AI and Automation, and Actionable Intelligence (Wiley). Keith is a Partner at KDA Capabilities, a member of the Digital Finance Committee of the Bretton Woods Committee Washington DC and founder of JustAskProf AI.
Formerly a professor in the school of computing at the National University of Singapore and founding director of its FinTech Lab, Keith has helped leaders in financial services, supply chain, and government rethink their strategy, scale innovation, and lead with emerging technologies. His work blends deep technical fluency with strategic foresight, and he has been trusted by global organizations including KPMG, Asia Development Bank, Mastercard, Citibank, UBS and Rajah and Tann to deliver transformation-ready leadership programs.
Terri Mottershead, Director - Digital Enablement, Ashurst Advance
Terri Mottershead is the Global Director of Ashurst Advance Digital Enablement. She chairs the Queensland Law Society’s AI in Legal Practice Consulting Committee, serves on the Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation & Technology Association Advisory Board, and is a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management.
Terri holds a Bachelor of Laws from QIT, a Master of Laws from the University of Queensland, and an MBA from the University of Wales. Over more than three decades, she has worked across private practice and academia, founded and grown start-ups, served on boards and committees in both the for profit and non profit sectors, and led talent management functions in major international firms and professional associations.
A recognised leader in legal innovation, Terri has led global teams at the forefront of AI and adjacent technologies, guiding their application to transform legal service delivery and drive adoption of new ways of working across the profession worldwide.
